This tiny apartment located in Paris, France, has been redesigned in 2015 by Katarina Mijic . Description Welcome to an oak wood home of a young Parisian photographer. It tends to link the outside flat rooftop lawn and the appartment with its green furniture elements. The studio is optimized to accommodate a fully equipped bathroom and kitchen, a semi-separate room, a dining space, and a lounge area in only 30m². All furniture is made by Domus Arhitekti in Serbia. Casa Lupita by Binomio Taller

Located in Merida, Yucatan’s Historic Center (Mexico), Casa Lupita pays tribute to the classic colonial architecture of its historic neighborhoods. This project involved restoration as well as architectural, interior, furniture and landscape design. Description The conceptual premise of the project is the juxtaposition of colonial and contemporary architecture. The nineteenth century “casona” was restored, the add-on that was built during the 1960s was demolished to give way to the original central patio layout, traditional in this type of building. The facade was remodeled to preserve the essence of the elements of colonial homes of the time, and place it within the context of the neighborhood: doors and windows are based on the traditional design, the traditional moldings are represented by horizontal slits and the baseboard is reinterpreted using white concrete. Compluvium House by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos

This luxurious minimalist residence located in Madrid, Spain, has been designed in 2020 by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos . Description The Greeks, as well as the Etruscans and the Romans used compluvium in aristocratic dwellings to lead rainwater to the impluvium. This opening, which was made in the center of the domus, was initially used to vent the smoke from the fires made in the homes. Over time, this aperture kept growing in proportion favoring the lighting, the ventilation of the rooms and the collection of water that was carried out in the impluvium. We like to think of this house located in the center of Madrid as an interpretation of this element, which also grants privacy to the house from neighboring buildings. The rooms open out to the interior space, the opposing spaces allow an axial vision throughout the plot. With this mechanism it is sought that the house meets the duality of having a very open spatiality and simultaneously a bounded perception of space. Th
