Prefabricated Country Home by Figurr Architects Collective

Recently designed by Figurr Architects Collective , this prefab country house is situated in Ivry-sur-le-lac, Canada. Description The house consists of five prefabricated custom modules, each approximately fifty feet long, that are assembled before being delivered to the site. The concept allowed for indoor construction under optimal working conditions. The modular design is unique, created according to precise plans by the architect. The insulation, windows, and flooring were all assembled before shipping. Transporting the giant modules proved to be quite a challenge. The process included preparation, coordination, and navigating through country roads with ninety degree turns in inclement weather. Construction began in late summer before the demolition of the existing house. This ensured a faster construction so that the family would not lose more than one season enjoying the country. EV House by Artspazios Arquitectos e Designers

Designed in 2019 by Artspazios Arquitectos e Designers , this two-story concrete residence is located in Viseu, Portugal. Description A downward topography gesture facing west, contemplating the valley underlined by the mountain on the horizon. That’s the scenario in which this project emerges, in a sequence of overlaid volumes insuperable in its monolithic character, but still permeable within, defining exterior spaces intrinsic to the indoor space. The concept guideline revolves around the pre-existing frame whose geometry was homogenized in a single mass only to be opened in a thin vertical gap, highlighting the entrance. This verticality is also found in the living room unfolding into an uninterrupted indoor height though the floors. This allows for the living room to be contemplated from the study and guest room both upstairs. This main structure is embraced by another volume containing the main suite connected to exterior spaces, at both ends, such as a covered

Designed in 2016 by Elphick Proome Architecture , this inspiring two-story house is located in Westville, South Africa. Description The relocation of a young family with a love for the African bush resulted in this secluded house set alongside a verdant Nature Reserve. Simple sustainability principles derive large over-sailing roofs, a screened elevated verandah, extensive rainwater harvesting and use of natural ventilation SITING Siting of the house was facilitated to ensure that the remarkable location was fully embraced. Positioning the building on the southern edge of the land provided the best prospect with unfettered views to the verdant eastern valley, dramatic cliff faces and northern aspect across the land. SPACE + FUNCTION Simple planning and a two level arrangement with sleeping spaces above and living spaces below were resolved into a rectangular plan form. All living spaces are open and connect to northern outdoor terraces, east facing elevated deck, pool
