Four Textures by Denys Bondarenko

This amazing industrial apartment located in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov has been recently designed by Denys Bondarenko . Description At our very first meeting with a client it was clear: an interesting creative project waited for us. The owner of an apartment worked in a stylish office of an IT company. He was inspired by travels throughout the world, showed us references in grunge style and was prepared for bold decisions. We caught the wave and got down to work. For the project of the apartment we used only four natural materials — bricks, concrete, metal and wood; and four colors — terracotta, white, gray and black; mainly designer’s items and furniture and joint efforts with the client of course. 2.6 meter high ceilings were the first pitfall we encountered. Instead of wide open spaces, we risked getting a creepy box, so we opted out of making the paneled ceiling and left it as is — exposed concrete with wiring. Monte House by TACO

Casa de Monte is a compact vacation home designed for a couple of young adults, immersed in the wild landscape of southeastern Mexico. Description The objective was to achieve a reflective and contemplative place that links the occupant with the surrounding wild landscape. An intuitive, functional and simple experience of living, but with great spatial warmth. The location of the building is defined at the back of the property by issues of privacy and noise control; oriented in such a way that it works with insolation and dominant winds to achieve a comfortable indoor temperature. The construction is on a platform elevated of the ground level, making it difficult for undesirable animals to access, and facilitating the construction process of the pool, since the terrain is rocky and excavations were not feasible. This was located in the shadow of a pre-existing tree, which is accessed through an open terrace, extension of the interior social area. The latter, of double

Mini Loft by October Design Studio

This inspiring tiny apartment situated in Vilnius, Lithuania, has been recently completed by October Design Studio . Description Interior of a mini loft is based in a valley of river Vilnelė. It is impossible not to notice the beauty of all four seasons changing in those forests, hills and river. One of the highest client expectations was to feel the connection between surroundings and interior. That is why high ceilings, wide windows fulfill space with light and view. Plan of a loft is divided into technical and living functions. First one is hidden in violet ‚box‘ of walls and furniture, and the other one is designed quite minimal, by putting most attention to space, volumes, very few materials ant textures. Iconic furniture, lighting solutions fulfill this interior and makes it exceptional. This project takes all the feeling from the beauty of a valley, reflects materials, colors, mood and shapes it a very sensitive way. Photography by Norbert Tukaj Visit October Des

The objective of the project was that the house will take advantage of the characteristics of the complex and that the open spaces will be part of the dynamics of daily use. Likewise, the house should remember the Yucatecan culture and have the capacity to house the collection of objects of artistic and / or emotional value of the owners. The building is tucked away from the public road, generating a pocket park on one of its sides. In this one there is an access threshold defined by an old restored door.
