The Blue Scoop Haus by Dig Architects

Located in Mumbai, India, this colorful residence has been designed in 2019 by Dig Architects . Description The intent of this design was to work within the context of the Indian cultural narrative with a new language of interpretation that allows for a dynamic, varied and yet enduring experience for the end user. The spine of the design is the exuberant use of colors, which is a key element of the Indian culture. The subtle yet definitive use of colors to connect with the space without being overwhelming and out of sync presented a new challenge. The mainstay of the theory is the large volume that starts right from the entrance spanning till the lobby for individual rooms. This volume has been termed ‘The Blue Scoop’. The design intent for it was achieved by having all the surfaces connected to this volume in a single tone of color (Blue). This move creates an illusion of a chunk of mass being subtracted (scooped) and separated from the overall volume. Keeping the spa

Casa Solferino by Fabio Fantolino

This lovely midcentury apartment located in Turin, Italy, has been designed in 2020 by Fabio Fantolino . Description On the seventh floor of the “Casa Alta” of 1954 in the center of Turin, Fabio Fantolino signs Casa Solferino, an apartment where, more than other times, the attempt is to bring luxury close to design, a usually difficult dialogue between two worlds that tend to maintain an irreconcilable distance. The interior design choices of the whole project have been guided by a philosophy using the blue color as its flagship, accompanied and contrasted by rich and elegant upholstery and fabrics, simultaneously kept undertone using neutral colors and black walnut elements. The resin floor further enhances the iconic design elements and the color spikes. In the dining room, the shiny petrol blue table with champagne mirror edges is the main subject of the scene. It is surrounded by the Minotti armchairs, which are covered in elegant and neutral fabric and contrasted by

Secret Garden House by Scapearchitecture

Located on the Greek island of Paros, this minimalist residence has been designed in 2019 by Scapearchitecture . Description Designed as an underground hideaway emerging from the trees, the Secret Garden House by Scapearchitecture settles within Faragas, on the southwest part of Paros island in Greece. Instead of yet another white dot on the map, the residence is integrated into the slope, embracing nature, rather than displacing it, and establishes a new paradigm of symbiotic relationship with its environment. A small olive grove at the southern part and a cluster of pine trees to the east mark the property’s boundaries and define the available area for the house. A gently stepped pathway leads from the carport at the southwestern corner of the plot to the main outdoor living area, set at the highest part of the site. Living and dining areas are found underneath a rectangular, elongated shading pergola, along with a fully equipped kitchen, a sunbathing deck and a sha
