The House in the Forest is a detached single-family house located in Barcelona, Spain, designed in 2020 by El Fil Verd . Description The design of this detached single-family house was commissioned to us by a couple with the dream of retirement living in the middle of nature. The site is characterized by a Mediterranean vegetation typical of the area and includes olive trees, pines, mastic trees and palm hearts on calcareous soils. A construction that would allow to contemplate the landscape and would entail low energy consumption were the main requirements of this commission. The verdant garden defines the property, which is surrounded by tall, board-formed concrete walls to ensure security and privacy. Two large pine trees already growing on the site anchor the landscape design, which features diverse species intentionally scattered throughout the space. Adjacent to the garden, a large gate and door made of wooden louvers leads to a long, broad approach where the focal point is an old olive tree opposite the front door. The first floor is devoted mainly to living space for the client’s mother, offering excellent views from the living room and bedroom of the changing seasons in the garden. Le Querce Farmhouse by Stefano Ghiretti

Le Querce Farmhouse is a beautiful residence located in Lecce, Italy, redesigned in 2020 by Stefano Ghiretti . Description The story of this residence on two levels in farmhouse style begins with the request of the clients to complete the work of a structure whose buildings were already formally defined and in a rustic state, on the project of the previous architect in charge, arch. Antonella De Ramundo. If it is true that, as I believe, beauty is born subordinated to a purpose to be achieved, then we can say that the intention in the reworking of this project was subordinated to the idea of a rediscovered “simplicity” where it could sometimes seem to be lost. There are no given recipes, simplicity is not simple; its result appears obvious only once the work is finished. More specifically, the solutions were sought in the traditional abacus of Mediterranean and regional constructions, taken as a founding model of the type of construction that had begun. A work ther
