House Blended into the Forest by Z3Z Architekci

Designed in 2020 by Z3Z Architekci , this contemporary house surrounded by forest is situated in Poland. Description The plot is located in a picturesque pine forest, with beautiful pine trees overgrown with ivy, which from the very beginning have captivated both the client and the designers. When starting to design the house, the designers of Z3Z ARCHITEKCI faced the task of putting the building between the trees, so that as little as possible of the existing beautiful old tree stand had to be cut down. Together with the client, they found a clearing on a plot, which they chose as a spot for the house. It was also a part of the later discovered vision for this plot from the State Forests. On one hand, the difficulties of building the house in the forest and on the other, the desire to preserve as many trees as possible, contributed to the fact that the house almost becomes one with the forest. The use of seemingly unlike to the natural landscape material, such ...

Private Apartment by Pietro Corcione

This contemporary apartment located in Saint Moritz, Switzerland, has been redesigned in 2020 by Pietro Corcione . Description The apartment is the result of the merger of two smaller apartments for a total of 230 square meters. Since the first inspection we realized that the beautiful view of the village of St. Moritz and the lake of the same name, was not enhanced. The demolitions that followed, aimed to create an open space overlooking that magnificent view. Three full-height sliding windows mark the sequence between the living room, the dining area and the breakfast island of the open kitchen. A harmonious blend of materials gives a contemporary and authentic spirit. The thermo-treated oak used for the floor is combined with the grey marble used in the carved finish. A continuous boaiserie, made of solid oak strips, characterizes the distribution corridor of the apartment. Details in burnished brass contribute to create an elegant mood as well as the handles made o...

Minimal Villa by Mide Architetti

Minimal Villa is a single-story residence located in Stra, Italy, designed by Mide Architetti . Description The project involves the construction of a new single-family residential building developed on one level. The house inside the lot is positioned as far as possible from the road in order to take full advantage of the privacy that the large lot could give. The shape of the building is generated by the union between the functional arrangement of the interiors and their best exposure: this creates two external areas with specific properties of use and function, the southern area with a porch with large windows towards the countryside and the northern area closed and waterproof towards the road. In the north-eastern area there are the service rooms such as garage, laundry and bathroom, while to the west the living room, consisting of kitchen and living room, extends outside thanks to the presence of a porch area. To the east are arranged bedrooms with bathrooms and ...

House in Grândola by Bak Gordon Arquitectos

House in Grândola is a traditional private residence located in Grândola, Portugal, designed in 2021 by Bak Gordon Arquitectos . Description Built in the vast territory of Alentejo, the house emerges from the figure of an extensive water tank attached to a wall, facing south, as if it was a resonance box of the entire landscape. On the other side of the wall the social spaces and two fresco rooms are kept, places of transition between interior and exterior, considered as foundational for the daily life of the house. It is around the small interior patio that different private areas gravitate. The house is totally lined with lime mortar and insulated with cork from the outside. The shape and geometry of spaces, and the insightful openings, together with the immersion in this materiality, bring a sensorial sense which is difficult to recognize from images.
